speed painting practice

a bit o' photoshop painting to test my new wacom. I've not really painted much before as I usually sketch on paper but i decided to have a go at PS and I found it quite fun. I didnt use any reference at all, as you can probably notice but it came out reasonably well despite the lack of reference, I will definitely do more soon but probably with reference and maybe colour swatching to speed things up a bit.

This is an idea I had for a ship hall and observation deck. The main concept and atmosphere is dark claustrophobic hallways leading into large open bright rooms with dark corners and expansive views of space. The hall was darker but i brightened it up in Photoshop so you can see more.

decided against the vicar because the silhouette of the clothing is boring beyond belief, so i am now turning him into an old, wise modern demon hunter. im also going to give him another form in which he is part demonic.

another bash at z sphere sculpting, i like the freedom of creating a character this way. It lets me focus on the idea without having to worry about the topology and details straight away. It's only WIP at the moment havnt done anything to the legs yet or even descided what i want the body to do.

this was an attempt to create a model using just zbrush, i created the head from a zsphere then unwrapped with uvmaster and textured using the zbrush projection techniques and finally composited using photoshop.

I got a bit bored so thought id have a blast at zpheres and did this speed sculpt, its a wip but i may turn it into low poly but seing as its roughly posed i may not. its hands will be bound to its neck and they will act as its lower jaw

a quicky

just a quick zbrush sculpt from a sphere, most my bust start with a base mesh that has been modeled using reference planes, so i thought i should have a go at doing it without all that stuff.
There isn't any real polypainting on there, i just splashed a bit o' colour on real quick like.

zbrush speed sculpt

my brother and I worked together to create this speed sculpt, it was a fun excorsise to take a zsphere and create somthing without any reference, especially with 2 people working on it. I'm going to try this again soon just on my own.

edit: added a few things like a bit of hair some purple aroun d the eyes and a little contrast to improve depth and detail plus he would be outside alot.

just created this head to see how much ive improved since uni. i will create the full body soon, ive just got a few things to do to his head.

another face using the same base mesh, ive been playing with skin tones to create fair skin. The whole idea is to create as many different nationalities and styles of people with the same base mesh quickly, this head took me about a day on and off, mainly working with weight around the face in zbrush

I descided to go back and have a little practice at zbrush again as i havnt used it much due to doing more hard modeling and environment stuff lately. I chose to update my old head sculpt and i think its coming on rather well soon i will lowpoly it and maybe make a nice set of clothes for it aswell.

Ive been working on this character for about a day to practice my skills on a different nationality. My insparation for creating this character was seing a few images on tribes in africa and the child soldiers. I have rescently done a child so descided to do a man instead.
